A career in fashion photography

A career in fashion photography
We see them everywhere, in magazines, on Run Way, in television commercials. These are slim women who wear their usual things or beauties with their brighter look, who show off their pearly white while wearing the latest styles of top designers. We are talking about fashion models today, yesterday and tomorrow. They are everywhere, but who brings them to us? Your photos are taken with care and precision, patience and the special look of the lighting style, color and composition. I'm talking about fashion photographers.

In fashion circles, famous names like Mario Testino (easily one of the most popular names) and Eva Mueller (Allure fashion magazine photographer) are just as in demand, if not more so, than the men and women who come to our attention.

The high salary and the glamorous lifestyle of a plate that steals it from the rich and famous could be the dream of many young people of shutters, but still reaching the golden stairs of some famous houses and fashion magazines is not easy. For every talented photographer, there are hundreds of people who tremble on the sidewalk and dream only when their photo is selected.

Here are some tips for beginners and dreamers to get started with fashion photography. Research your subject. You can never learn enough. Read on and look at any fashion magazine you can get your hands on. There are amazing books about photography and fashion. Amazon.com has a real treasure available. You need one or two good rooms, a tripod and a lighting system. Always make sure you have plenty of movies and batteries. SLR cameras and digital cameras take different photos, so make sure you find the best one for your area.

When you submit your paper, hopefully you have the opportunity to have a portfolio available, as the editor of the fashion magazine wants to see examples of your work. I can assure you that if they consider working with you, it will be a fact.
The clear and bright images with 4X5 ”transparency show your work best. If you've already had a post, it doesn't matter if it was a small neighborhood magazine / newspaper or a competition, a teardrop magazine (literally, a sheet you rip out of the magazine) works well. If none of them are available, a good 8 X 10 "quality is also acceptable. You want to make sure you have at least 20 photos in your portfolio and preferably different styles. You will show your experience in complete pieces or only for the partial body figure.

Remember, fashion includes jewelry and accessories. Sometimes a watch from a famous manufacturer on the beautiful wrist of a beautiful woman is a good fashion game. If you apply for the position, be prepared to leave your portfolio behind for an extended period, sometimes up to a few weeks. I would advise you to have children and keep more at hand. This is useful when showing your work to many different people to be considered for fashion works.

In the age of modern technology, it is good to show your talent as an online fashion photographer. Create a website; Submit photos to contests. Send them to an online fashion gallery. It helps you see your work and people can see what kind of work you do and what you can do for them.

Most publishers look for your personality in the photos you take. Every fashion photographer captures differently the soul of fashion and its model. There are some great "good start" sites on the web. You may want to start with http://www.fashion.net/howto/photography/ or http://www.stylecarrer.com/fashion_photographer.shtml. The most important thing is that if this is your dream, don't give up. Try it and I hope you see your pictures on the cover of my next fashion magazine.
